Scientific Name: Eutetranychus africanus (Tucker)
The grub and mature African red mite suck the nutrients from the leaf, upper side and lower side, so it turns pale green. The surface of lower side has the mark of the red mite which looks like dust. Finally, it would fall. It affects durian flowering and fruitage. African red mite spreads by the blowing wind. The most severe epiphytotic is during the drought season or insufficient rainfall period. Check the epiphytotic by groping the leaf with finger whether there is red stain like blood or not.
