There are many species of durian thrips. The caterpillar and mature thrips suck the nutrient from the bud, flowers and young fruit. The destroyed leaf has the burning mark and be crooked. The flower has the silver gray or black scar so it is imperfect and finally falls. If it ruins the blooming flower or young fruit, it will make a cut and hard flesh. Thrips spread by blowing with the wind. The most severe epiphytotic is during the drought season or insufficient rainfall period. Check the epiphytotic by knocking the top or the inflorescence on the white paper and count the thrips.
