Entomopathogenic Fungi: Meliola euphoriae Earle
Black mold is generally found at the unattended garden. The prevention of sucking insect such as mealybug and coccidae that sucks the nutrients and excretes the syrup on the leaf and bough is required. When the longan blooms, the fungi suck the nutrients so the flowers dry without pollination and will fall finally. If it occurs to the fruit, it leaves the black stain which is the main cause of the dirty and rough longan peel. Entomopathogenic fungi spread by wind and rain water, especially when the harvest season is coming. The peel will be dirty so it gets the low price.
