1. Restore trunk and leaf after harvest
After harvest, pruning should be done to get rid of the unhealthy boughs to allow the treetop to get sunlight fully and photosynthesize efficiently.
Restoring longan tree is the key to the successful flowering and fruitage in the following season. The fast restoration reduces the trunk deterioration, dead root and soil drenching increases flowers.
Suggestion
- By leaf: Mix Mommoth Combi 200 cc., Leo 200 cc. and Amarith 200 cc. with 200 ltr. of water and spray over the canopy 2-3 times after harvest before leaflet blooming.
- By soil: Use fertilizer 16-16-16 1-2 kg. per one tree. Scatter Full House 100-300 g. per one tree to encourage new rootlets.
2. Producing the 1st set of leaflets
The first set of leaflets is “the leaf of new life” because it photosynthesizes to feed other parts of longan tree.
Having the first set of leaflets at the same time produces the second and third set of leaflets to grow at the same time as well. The first set takes 60 days to become mature leaves in order to synthesize chlorophyll. The nourishment focuses on the thick and green leaf that endures sunlight.
Suggestion
- Accelerate the first set of leaf by using Leo 300 cc. and Mommoth Sugar Express 200 cc. per 200 ltr. of water.
- Hasten the thick and green leaf by using Mommoth Calcium Magnesium 200 cc. with Leo 300 cc. per 200 ltr. of water.
3. Producing the 2nd set of leaflets
- To produce the second set of leaves simultaneously, use Leo 300 cc. with Mommoth Sugar Express 200 cc. per 200 ltr. of water.
4. Nutrient accumulation
Nutrient accumulation phase is when the leaves are medium-old. This is the last phase before receiving the substance to produce flower. All the leaves should be dark green.
Accumulation preparation
- By soil: Give fertilizer 8-24-24 to accumulate soil nutrient and for good root.
- By leaf: Spray with Mommoth Supreme 0-28-27 to minimize nitrogen to produce the new leaf, accumulate sugar to produce flower, and Mommoth Calcium Magnesium to produce pigment and perfect leaf.
In case of unexpected leaflet budding, accelerate the leaf to become mature by using Mommoth Supreme 0-24-24 with Mommoth Halt to have the leaf simultaneously.
5. How to drench
The quantity of soluble substance should be appropriate with the size of canopy and age of tree. Do the drenching while the soil is dry, the substance will not be dispersed efficiently.
Problems
- The calculation of using chlorate per one tree is too low. Therefore, the substance for each tree is insufficient.
- Dry soil and little watering obstruct the spread of substance.
- The leaves have low nutrient accumulation so nitrogen increases during rainy season. As a result, there are leaves mixed with flowers or leaves before flowers.

3-4 years old longan
- Never been drenched: Use 500 g. per one tree
- Been drenched: 1 kg. per one tree
Example
Mixture of substance 50 kg. and 1,000 ltr. of water can drench 50 trees. Each tree will have 1 kg. of substance.
6. Flower budding
After 20-30 days of drenching and all mature leaves are stable, stimulate the flower budding.
In case of frequent climate change or heavy rain, which causes the leaflet bud before flowering, use nitrogen to accelerate the mature leaves and add more sugar than nitrogen for more flowers.
Suggestion
- Use Mommoth Sugar Extra 200 cc. and Mommoth Fong Do 200 cc. with 200 ltr. of water to accelerate flower budding.
- Mix Mommoth Halt 200 cc. (to slow down) and Mommoth Sugar Express 200 cc. (to increase sugar) with 200 ltr. of water and spray 1-2 times.
7. Nourish flowers
During the blooming period, the flowers have sweet scent and needs an intensive care otherwise they would fall easily.
By soil, pour Humus mixed with water on the drenching mark to wash the substance. Use Full House 200-300 g. per one tree.
By leaf, mix Mommoth Folizym 200 cc., Mommoth Sugar Express 200 cc. and Mommoth Calcium Born 200 cc. with 200 ltr. of water and spray every 7-10 days until the flower falls to helps on pollination.
8. Fruit and seed
Baring fruit and seed is the stage that the fruit is developing quickly. The peel extends and the flesh is growing. The appropriate fruit number per bunch is 30-35 fruits, which is not over the leaf capacity. Too many fruits will delay the growth and causes the uneven size and cracked fruit.
Suggestion
- Mix 200 ltr. of water with Mommoth Calcium Boron 200 cc. (to help on tough stem and peel),
- Mommoth Folizyme GA 200 cc. (to extend the nutrient tubes so the tree receives nutrients effectively for the constant fruit size),
- and Ergostim 50 cc. (to assist during the changing weather and reduce the fall of young fruit during heavy rain or strong sunlight).
9. Fruit growing
This is one of the most important stages because it nourishes the fruit to grow in a certain size with crispy flesh and sweet taste. Watering is the most important factor so less watering would result in the small fruit and easy fall. Nutrients should be added to construct the peel and flesh.

- Mommoth Folizyme GA 200 cc. (to extend the nutrient tubes so the tree receives nutrients effectively for the constant fruit size), and UMP 300 g. (to upsize the fruit and produce sweetness).
