Is wildly contagious during the blooming period. The worm eats the outer bud or flower, especially inside the inflorescence. The infestation is severe. The worm spins a web to bind the inflorescence so the flower does not bloom and produce the fruit. It will finally fall off.
Scientific Name: Cornegenapsylla sinica Yang & Li. A small sucking insect has brown body and dark brown under the stomach. The epiphytotic harms the young leaf throughout the year, particularly the longan tree that budding throughout the year.
Longan Erineum Mite is a carrier of Phytoplasma. The damaged leaf cluster has the peduncle in canopy shape with a short internode as a broom. The ruined flower will dry and fall. The remaining peduncle is brown and dried so it does not produce fruit or gives low yields.
The grub and mature African red mite suck the nutrients from the leaf, upper side and lower side, so it turns pale green. The surface of lower side has the mark of the red mite which looks like dust.
